“The Stencilets have been a great help because of the way they hold the paper. The children have really enjoyed them”.

Ann Davies, Pine Lodge Nursery School
Stencilets, pack of 8
ISBN 1 870946 35 9
Stencilets let young children draw a picture, write the word, and take pride in what they have made. Made of durable, washable plastic, they can be folded and clipped shut to hold the paper in place. Once children have been shown how to clip them they can be left with a pile of Stencilets, paper and pencils.

“The Jiglets were immensely popular - I had a whole class of 30 children queuing up to work with them”.

Review in Right Start magazine
Jiglets
Jiglets are flexible magnetic jigsaw puzzles. The letter pieces can fit in any order – so the spelling can be incorrect. Jiglets encourage children to spell words from their sounds. Ideal for metal chalkboards. Each pack also has 2 playing boards.
Each letter piece in a Jiglet is the same shape. Children need to work out the spelling from the sounds in the word.
Jolly Phonics Wall Frieze
The Jolly Phonics Wall Frieze shows the 42 main letter sounds, not just the alphabet. The seven sections can be put up together or one by one. The pictures can also be cut up and used separately.

Finger Phonics 1-7
“The Finger Phonics have been fun for our children. They have been better at learning the letters, and with the actions it has been easier to keep them involved. They have also been much better at mastering how to form the letters correctly”

Penny Toghill, Raglan Day Nursery
The first group of letter sounds is s a t i p n. More simple words can be made from these 6 letters than any other, so letters can quickly be turned into words.
Jolly Phonics introduces the letter sounds in 7 groups, so chosen to help the learning. The digraphs (such as ai, where two letters represent one sound) are introduced alongside the single letters, from the fourth group. Children come to recognise them very easily. Where a digraph represents two different sounds it is introduced in two differing forms, such as oo (book, moon) and th (then, thin).
Cut out letter shapes show children’s fingers the correct formation for every letter.
The delightful illustrations include the action for each sound, and objects with the sound in the word.
Each of the 16 page books covers a specific group of letters.

“Daniel (Age 3 years, 9 months) enjoyed the video so much he just kept on wanting to watch it. He started learning the letter sounds and he brought it all on from there. He learned to read through the video, mainly.”

Inky Mouse shows her friends Snake and Bee how to read and write with the help of “Phonic”, an old computer. Children love the world of Inky’s mousehole, and her trips to the woods outside where she takes pictures for each letter sound.

The videos introduce each letter by its sound (so a is sounded as in ant, and later ai is introduced as in aim). They show the formation of each letter, how to blend sounds, and how to spell using the sounds in words. The two 60 minute videos have 4 parts each for showing one at a time and for using with the other Jolly Phonics material.
