Training in the UK

To everyone interested in joining our team of official Jolly Phonics Trainers:
Please note that we *do not* provide any training sessions that certify you as a trainer. One training session is not sufficient to become a trainer.
Any certificate given to you at any Jolly Phonics training session is a Certificate of Participation or Attendance to show that you have undertaken training; not certification to become an official Jolly Phonics Trainer.

All of our Jolly Trainers are passionate educators with years of experience in the classroom teaching the Jolly Phonics programme. They have all undergone a comprehensive application process. We require them to display evidence of this experience, as well as proving their knowledge of the programme and how to teach it successfully.
We are delighted that there are so many of you that are passionate about the programme, and we hope you continue to further your knowledge of and experiences using Jolly Phonics. There is nothing to prevent you from using Jolly Phonics (though we do encourage training to ensure you are secure in your knowledge and make the best of the programme). However, please be aware that becoming a trainer is not something that can be done overnight by undertaking one training session.

Frome

Training with Stephen Marquiss:

Introduction to Jolly Music for EYFS/KS1 – Twilight Taster

Date: Wednesday 9th October 2019
Time: 16:00 – 18:00 including refreshments
Venue: Jackdaws Music Education Trust, Great Elm, Frome, Somerset, BA11 3NY
Cost: £10 per person

In this Taster at the award-winning Jackdaws, Jolly Music trainer Stephen Marquiss will demonstrate the Beginner and Level One stages (EYFS to KS1) through engaging, age-appropriate songs and activities for group participation, before showing how the programme develops for use at KS2. Expect an evening of fun, enjoying this outstanding resource!

Stephen explains, “I’ve worked for 20 years with those at the very start of their musical journeys and those in their more senior years. I believe passionately that the best musical start lays foundations both for advanced musicianship and confident, expressive personal development.  Jolly Music’s detailed lesson plans are accessible to all. Its high quality, age-appropriate musical material leaves no-one behind struggling to sing complex, wide-ranging tunes and ending up thinking they’re tone deaf! It serves the ablest too, who can explore the material from many perspectives, providing an experiential grounding in pitch, pulse, rhythm and basic musical notation.”

Display copies of the colourful, affordable Jolly Music resources will be available to inspect.
