Letters and Sounds - Is this the end?
  With the government admitting it isn’t fit for purpose and is being phased out, is this the end of Letters and Sounds?
   Our wonderful Jolly Phonics co-author, Sara Wernham, thinks that, just possibly, it is. She gives her commentary to Teach Primary.

Issue 4 of The Trainer e-magazine
  We are delighted to present Issue Four of The Trainer, an e-magazine for trainers and teachers.
   This magazine is created by one of our very own Jolly Phonics Trainers, the wonderful Yvonne Dalorto, and features a selection of interesting news articles from around the world (and featuring several of our other brilliant Jolly Phonics Trainers!).
   Issue Four features interviews with our wonderful co-author, Sue Lloyd, alongside interviews with Dina Restuani (Indonesia) and Clare Fulton (Scotland) amongst much more!

FREE Jolly Phonics events with the Jolly Phonics co-authors
  We are delighted to announce we are offering FREE events with the Jolly Phonics co-authors, Sue Lloyd and Sara Wernham.
   Throughout May, June and July, we are giving you the opportunity to join us at two completely free events, introducing you to Jolly Phonics and guiding you through the first few years of the programme.
   The two sessions available to join are Get Started with Jolly Phonics with Sue Lloyd, and Extending Jolly Phonics through KS1 with Sara Wernham.

Letters and Sounds 'not fit for purpose'
   The UK government have announced that they are no longer going to pursue the revision of Letters and Sounds and are now opening a new validation process.
   The Department for Education stated that their current policy is that SSP programmes should be created by teachers and phonics experts. They also stated that the ‘2007 Letters and Sounds is not fit for purpose.’

Brand New Jolly Plays - available now!
   We are delighted to present our brand new Jolly Plays, which is available to buy now!
  Jolly Plays are designed to help children become fluent and confident readers, with well-developed speaking and listening skills. There are six reproducible play scripts, which are decodable at the Jolly Phonics Purple Level, alongside a selection of props, songs and other activities.

   The Jolly Phonics Word Bank is a comprehensive collection of words for blending and segmenting practice. The Jolly Grammar Glossary is a detailed glossary of terms used in Jolly Grammar.
