Harriet is a Ugandan from Masaka district. She completed the ordinary level of education and then completed a two year teacher training course at Nakaseke Primary Teachers College, under Kyambogo University. She achieved a Grade three Teacher’s Certificate.
Harriet has worked with both private and international schools specialising in literacy skills. She is currently the Headmistress of New Horizon Nursery and Primary School and implemented Jolly Phonics seven years ago. She has said she will never look back because she has seen first-hand the amazing achievements in children’s literacy skill. The parents and other teachers have been impressed at the way children from New Horizon schools read!
It gives Harriet great pleasure to share her Jolly Phonics experience with Headteachers, teachers, parents and training teachers. She will look to organise training workshops and catch-up seminars so that participants can have fun and success with teaching reading as she has been.
